Gernot Kissel (1939-2008) has been painting since the age of 18 and has exhibited widely across Germany, Switzerland, Austria, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, and England. His work is distinguished by a strong emphasis on colour, expressive contours, and richly textured surfaces, often applied directly by hand. Combining a sensual painterly approach with the formal reduction of classical modernism, Kissel creates vibrant compositions in which colour contrasts and the human figure play a central role.
