Fedor van Kregten (1871–1937) was a Dutch painter associated with the second generation of the Hague School. Born in Diever, the Netherlands, he was largely self-taught and became known for his atmospheric landscapes featuring cattle, sheep, and the Dutch countryside.
Van Kregten’s work reflects a deep appreciation for nature, light, and rural life. Following travels to Spain and Morocco, his palette became brighter and more colourful while retaining the tranquil character for which his paintings are admired.
Today, Fedor van Kregten is appreciated as a skilled landscape painter whose works are sought after by collectors of Dutch art and Hague School-inspired painting.
